We are seeking an experienced professional to take charge of quality control within the Stitching/Closing section of a footwear manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of stitching quality throughout the production process, ensuring that operations consistently meet approved samples, specifications, workmanship standards, and quality requirements. This role demands a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in footwear upper construction and stitching processes, capable of identifying defects and implementing corrective measures to maintain high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for quality control in the Stitching/Closing section, ensuring adherence to quality standards at every stage of production.
- Monitor stitching quality continuously, conducting first-piece, in-process, and final quality inspections.
- Verify that stitching operations conform to approved samples, specifications, and workmanship standards.
- Inspect stitch density, alignment, thread tension, seam allowance, edge distance, and overall workmanship to ensure precision.
- Identify and control stitching defects such as skipped, loose, broken, uneven, overlapping stitches, and incorrect seam construction.
- Check the proper assembly of uppers, including component positioning, panel alignment, symmetry, and construction accuracy.
- Ensure correct attachment of footwear components like vamps, quarters, tongues, collars, linings, eye stays, and reinforcements per approved specifications.
- Monitor and manage rework, rejection, repair, and recurring stitching defects to minimize production losses.
- Analyze stitching defects to determine root causes and coordinate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) with Production and Maintenance teams.
- Ensure quality issues are identified and resolved at the source before the upper advances to subsequent production stages.
- Conduct regular quality audits to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), specifications, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate daily records of quality metrics, including rejection rates, rework, and defect reports.
- Prepare detailed defect analyses and highlight recurring stitching quality issues for management review.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Maintenance, and other QA/QC teams to maintain consistent stitching quality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects, rework, rejection, and quality-related production losses.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in footwear manufacturing, specifically in Stitching/Closing Quality Control.
- Strong hands-on expertise in stitching processes and quality control within footwear production.
- In-depth knowledge of footwear upper construction, stitching techniques, and quality standards.
- Comprehensive understanding of stitching defects, their root causes, and effective corrective actions.
- Proven experience in root-cause analysis, defect prevention, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop QC Inspectors and Quality Checkers, fostering a quality-focused team environment.
Additional Information
- Monthly salary range: Rs100,000 to Rs120,000.
- Candidates must be willing to reliably commute to or relocate to Kot Abdul Malik prior to starting work.
- This is an in-person role requiring full-time presence at the work location.
