Forward Deployed Engineer

We are seeking a self-motivated and versatile professional who thrives in a team environment to lead the deployment of our product across multi-location retail clients. The ideal candidate will excel in managing complex implementations, demonstrating outstanding communication and organizational skills. This role involves close collaboration with client teams to ensure seamless integration and adoption of our decision-platform modules.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end implementation of Zentallio’s decision-platform modules, including POS, Inventory, HR, Production, and Finance, at client sites. This covers requirements gathering, system configuration, data migration, user acceptance testing (UAT), and go-live support.
- Document client requirements and develop detailed functional specification documents that translate business processes into structured system configurations. These documents will serve as the foundation for implementation, quality assurance, and client approvals.
- Collaborate directly with client finance, operations, and store teams to map existing workflows such as cost of goods sold (COGS), stock valuation, reconciliations, and month-end close processes onto Zentallio’s platform. Identify gaps early and recommend solutions.
- Manage the technical and functional relationship with mid-to-large retail, food & beverage, and fashion clients, acting as the primary on-site engineer during rollout and stabilization phases.
- Configure and validate financial and inventory logic, including costing methods, tax rules, general ledger mappings, and stock valuation, to ensure accurate reconciliation of client financial records post go-live.
- Train client teams on system use and processes, ensuring a smooth handover to support teams. Document configuration decisions and edge cases to develop comprehensive internal implementation playbooks.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to communicate real-world client requirements, data anomalies, and edge cases, influencing the product roadmap and enhancements.

Required Qualifications

- Up to 5 years of experience in ERP implementation, financial systems consulting, or a client-facing technical/functional role.
- MBA in Finance, ACCA, or CA (part-qualified or qualified) with a strong foundation in accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost/inventory accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial and technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working hands-on with data, configurations, and troubleshooting. Exposure to SQL, spreadsheets, or ERP/SaaS platforms is preferred.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and work directly with retail, food & beverage, and fashion operations teams.
