FullStack is an AI-native engineering partner dedicated to transforming AI capabilities into reliable, production-ready solutions. Unlike many companies that can only demonstrate AI concepts, FullStack ensures AI is integrated from the start, backed by elite talent and transparent execution. Serving over 600 customers across North America, FullStack provides a seamless partnership for all AI engineering needs, enabling clients to move forward with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) embed directly within client teams to identify meaningful AI applications, architect solutions, build systems, and ensure their success in production. This role combines consulting, engineering, and operational expertise. FDEs engage with stakeholders ranging from COOs to engineers, balancing business needs with technical realities. Responsibilities include:
- Leading discovery workshops with business, data, and engineering teams to clarify genuine AI opportunities versus workflow issues.
- Mapping and specifying business processes for automation, detailing decision points, data inputs, and exceptions.
- Designing end-to-end agentic systems focused on context and retrieval architecture, including data sourcing, embeddings, hybrid search, permissions-aware retrieval, and orchestration with human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
- Developing and shipping working prototypes and production systems such as agents, retrieval services, and evaluation tools.
- Managing CI/CD pipelines extended to AI workflows, including prompt versioning and evaluation suites.
- Owning post-launch operations: monitoring metrics, managing drift, cost, latency, and enabling client teams to take over.
- Consulting with senior leadership to present and defend architectural decisions, quantify impact, and support pre-sales activities when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience with proficiency in Python or TypeScript/Node.js.
- Experience shipping at least one agentic AI solution, LLM workflow, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture into production.
- Advanced English communication skills.
- Completion of a four-year college degree.
- Hands-on experience with AI developer tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or OpenAI Codex.
- Proven ability to lead client-facing discovery calls, translating unstructured business needs into technical architectures.
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs, microservices, or event-driven systems.
- Familiarity with orchestration frameworks or APIs like LangGraph, LangChain, n8n, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or direct LLM APIs.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership from discovery through deployment.
- Strong attention to detail, positive mindset, and ability to work in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Experience with large, complex systems and a commitment to extreme ownership and client alignment.
- Authorization to work full-time in the country of the job posting; FullStack does not sponsor work visas.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with production AI operations: evaluation harnesses, observability, cost management, drift detection, and debugging non-deterministic systems.
- Expertise in prompt- and evaluation-level regression testing integrated into CI pipelines.
- Background in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, insurance, or manufacturing.
- Pre-sales support experience including discovery calls, statement of work (SOW) development, and technical proposal defense.
- Skills in process mining, operations analysis, or transformation consulting.
- Client enablement and training experience to build client team capabilities.
- Prior consulting or agency experience with comfort managing ambiguity and multiple accounts.
- Familiarity with AI-enhanced workflows and tools like Cursor, Windsurf, Google Antigravity, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, or Copilot CLI is a significant plus.
- Candidates with 10+ years of software development and solutions architecture experience, including relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect), are highly valued.
