Full Stack AI Developer

We are seeking a senior Full Stack AI Developer to lead the creation of an internal AI-powered operating platform. This full-time remote role requires at least four hours of daily overlap with U.S. Pacific Time. The successful candidate will work across data engineering, API integrations, AI/LLM applications, dashboards, automation, and modern web development. You will be responsible for designing the architecture, building production-ready systems, and continuously improving the platform to meet real business needs. This position demands a high level of ownership, enabling you to propose solutions, make technical decisions, and take projects from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities

Data & Platform Development:
Build and maintain a centralized data warehouse using SQL and modern data tools. Develop a shared metrics layer to ensure consistent business metrics across dashboards. Create data pipelines, models, monitoring systems, and automated reporting. Integrate data from multiple business systems into a unified platform.

API Integrations & Automation:
Develop and maintain REST API and webhook integrations with platforms such as ServiceTitan, Dialpad, Brex, Ramp, QuickBooks Online, payroll systems, Google Ads, and other business tools. Build event-driven automations to monitor business processes and trigger alerts when requirements are unmet. Create automated checks and scorecards for operations, payroll, accounting, and marketing.

AI & LLM Development:
Design and build AI-powered assistants capable of answering business questions using company data. Develop retrieval systems, text-to-SQL interfaces, semantic layers, agents, and tool-use workflows. Implement prompt design, evaluation frameworks, guardrails, and systems to control AI cost and latency. Ensure AI applications are reliable and suitable for real-world business operations.

Dashboards & Web Applications:
Create dashboards for operations, sales, finance, marketing, and customer service. Develop modern web applications using TypeScript/JavaScript and React or similar frameworks. Build backend services with Node.js or Python. Support future customer-facing applications related to booking, payments, invoices, job photos, and service history.

Security & Infrastructure:
Implement secure authentication methods, including OAuth/SSO, role-based access, secrets management, and audit logging. Adhere to least-privilege access principles and proper handling of personally identifiable information (PII). Support CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and production reliability. Ensure systems are well-documented and supported with runbooks.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of professional full-stack development experience with production systems.
- At least 2 years of experience building data pipelines, data warehouses, and LLM-powered applications.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with dbt or similar data modeling, orchestration, and monitoring tools.
- Proven ability to build REST APIs and webhook integrations.
- Hands-on experience with AI/LLM applications, including agents, tool use, text-to-SQL, retrieval, and evaluation.
- Strong frontend development skills using TypeScript/JavaScript and React or equivalent.
- Backend development experience with Node.js or Python.
- Familiarity with serverless or edge technologies; experience with Cloudflare Workers is a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Solid understanding of application security, authentication, permissions, secrets management, and audit logging.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of architecture, and make technical decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience integrating with field-service platforms like ServiceTitan, Jobber, or Housecall Pro.
- Knowledge of React Native or Flutter for mobile development.
- Experience working with business SaaS integrations at scale.
- Familiarity with SOC 2-style security controls and handling customer data securely.
- Proven track record of building AI assistants used by real business users.

Working Style

This role is fully remote, requiring at least four hours of overlap with U.S. Pacific Time. The team primarily communicates asynchronously, with regular collaboration sessions and weekly demos of completed work. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and managing projects through remote communication channels.
