Key Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, and deployment of complex features across backend services and web applications.
- Build and maintain reliable, secure REST APIs and webhooks that enterprise customers integrate with, ensuring clear documentation.
- Lead technical integrations from scoping through go-live, collaborating closely with Product, Success, and customer engineering teams.
- Utilize data and customer feedback to enhance the Burq Dashboard, enabling operators to manage mission-critical deliveries efficiently.
- Take full ownership of production quality by monitoring systems, responding to incidents, diagnosing root causes, and preventing recurrence.
- Elevate team standards through thorough code reviews, technical design contributions, mentoring, and improving engineering, security, and design practices.
- Integrate AI tools into daily workflows for development, testing, and debugging to accelerate problem-solving and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience with a proven track record of shipping and owning production systems.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript for backend development.
- Experience building web applications using React or similar modern frameworks.
- Solid background in designing and implementing REST APIs and microservices.
- Comfortable working with both SQL and NoSQL databases and deploying applications on AWS.
- Skilled in integrating third-party systems and APIs, including handling webhooks, authentication, and graceful failure management.
- Demonstrates a strong ownership mindset by independently driving ambiguous problems to completion and being accountable for outcomes.
- AI-native: actively uses AI tools such as Claude or Unblocked in daily work and quickly adapts to new technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
