We are seeking a Full-Stack JavaScript Engineer to join our product team at Outsource Origin, based in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. This is a full-time, on-site position with working hours from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, six days a week. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining production SaaS platforms using technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, React/Next.js, and advanced AI tools including large language models (LLMs), autonomous AI workflows, tool calling, and external API integrations. The role demands hands-on experience in developing real-world AI applications and complex multi-step workflows, not just theoretical knowledge or project-based experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs and database architectures using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Build frontend interfaces with React.js and Next.js, integrating AI-driven features seamlessly into the user experience.
- Develop LLM-powered applications involving AI agents, multi-step workflows, and function/tool calling.
- Implement routing logic to manage requests across various tools, APIs, and agents while maintaining state throughout workflows.
- Handle background processing, job queues, and long-running tasks using technologies like Redis, PostgreSQL, and queue management tools.
- Ensure robust error handling, retry logic, monitoring, and failure recovery to maintain system reliability.
- Deploy applications using Docker and manage production environments with a focus on debugging and continuous improvement.
- Take full ownership of features from architecture through deployment and post-release support, collaborating closely within a small, agile team.
Required Qualifications
- Proven professional experience with Node.js and TypeScript in backend development.
- Strong expertise in React.js and Next.js for frontend development.
- Hands-on experience building AI applications that utilize LLMs, including function/tool calling and autonomous AI workflows.
- Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, and related AI technologies.
- Experience designing and managing backend systems that support multi-step workflows, including state persistence and background job processing.
- Proficiency with Redis, PostgreSQL, or equivalent database and caching technologies.
- Practical knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, and integrating third-party services.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and deploying applications in production environments.
- Strong understanding of error handling, retry mechanisms, and system monitoring in distributed systems.
- Ability to clearly articulate and explain the architecture, backend design, and workflow management of systems personally developed.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with frameworks and tools such as LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, MCP, BullMQ, Temporal, or Celery is a significant advantage.
