Full-Stack Product Engineer (Senior)

Apex Research, based in Islamabad, Pakistan, is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to join their on-site team. With over five years of experience, the ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and refining a SaaS CRM and internal operations platform designed for client success, sales pipeline management, retention alerts, and executive reporting. This platform supports Coastal Research, Policy Limit Research, and PolicyTrace AI, providing insurance policy limit research, due diligence, and skip-trace services for US personal injury law firms. The technology stack includes a multi-tenant SaaS running on AWS, with a Node.js backend, Next.js applications, partner REST APIs, CRM connectors, AI processing services, and automated report delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the component architecture and data-fetching patterns for the CRM using Next.js (App Router), React 19, and TypeScript, all within the company’s design token system.
- Develop critical features such as the shared email inbox, sales pipeline board, saved views, and timeline experiences, along with the Express endpoints that support these functionalities.
- Build and optimize data-intensive views including filterable tables, date-range and prior-period comparisons, charts, drill-downs, bulk actions, and CSV export capabilities.
- Utilize TanStack Query for managing server state and server-sent events to enable live updates, designing an invalidation map to maintain screen consistency.
- Collaborate with the Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to establish and maintain a comprehensive Playwright test suite, ensuring linting and type checks remain error-free.
- Conduct thorough code reviews of pull requests submitted by the product team and provide mentorship to mid-level and junior engineers.
- Prioritize render performance and accessibility to support staff who rely heavily on the application throughout their workday.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience building production web applications, including at least two years working with React and TypeScript, and at least one year using Next.js App Router.
- Proven track record of shipping complex admin, dashboard, inbox, or CRM products featuring advanced tables, filters, and role-based permissions.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express, capable of writing and reviewing backend endpoints associated with owned screens.
- Experience with TanStack Query or a similar server-state management library.
- Hands-on experience writing Playwright or Cypress tests for features you have developed.
- Demonstrated ability to establish frontend conventions for a development team and conduct code reviews.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building real-time, multi-user interfaces such as inboxes, kanban boards, or pipeline boards.
- Familiarity with TanStack Table or comparable data-grid libraries handling large datasets.
- Knowledge of Prisma ORM and PostgreSQL database systems.
