Full-Stack Software Developer – FinTech / Legal Accounting Platform

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Full-Stack Software Developer to join our Lahore office and play a key role in building a new cloud-based application tailored for the UK legal and accounting sector. This is a unique opportunity to be among the first developers shaping a product from the ground up. You will collaborate closely with the business owner, who brings extensive expertise in legal finance and accounting, to translate real-world bookkeeping and legal workflows into a scalable software platform. The initial focus will be on integrating financial transactions and data from legal practice management systems, enabling users to efficiently review, analyze, categorize, and process transactions. Over time, the platform will expand to include integrations with systems such as Clio, Xero, and Open Banking providers, alongside workflow automation and AI-assisted features.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop the application from the initial MVP through to production deployment.
- Build both front-end interfaces and back-end services.
- Architect a secure and scalable database system.
- Develop API integrations with third-party platforms including Clio and Xero.
- Implement functionality to import and process bank transaction data.
- Create workflows for transaction review, categorization, tagging, and allocation.
- Design dashboards and user-friendly interfaces for finance teams and law firms.
- Develop secure user authentication, permissions, and role-based access controls.
- Build reliable audit trails to track changes made to financial data.
- Plan the application architecture to support future multi-company and multi-client functionality.
- Work closely with the business owner to understand accounting processes and convert them into software workflows.
- Test, document, and continuously improve the application.
- Utilize AI development tools where appropriate to enhance development speed and code quality.

Required Qualifications
- Strong practical experience in software development beyond coursework or small freelance projects.
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience with React, Next.js, or similar modern front-end frameworks.
- Backend development skills using Node.js, Python, .NET, or equivalent technologies.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL or other robust relational databases.
- Experience with REST APIs and third-party API integrations.
- Familiarity with OAuth 2.0 authentication protocols.
- Proficient with Git and GitHub for version control.
- Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Ability to build secure web applications handling sensitive financial information.
- Strong skills in database design and application architecture.
- Proven ability to debug and maintain production-level applications.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in FinTech or accounting software development.
- Familiarity with Open Banking APIs, Xero API, and Clio API.
- Knowledge of banking transaction processing and SaaS platforms.
- Understanding of multi-tenant software architecture.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Exposure to AI or large language model (LLM) integrations.
- Skills in automated transaction classification and financial reconciliation systems.
- Awareness of UK accounting, bookkeeping, or legal software (though legal accounting experience is not required as workflows will be explained).
