Full-Stack Software Engineer

Join a small, focused engineering team where you will take full ownership of features from initial ticket to production deployment. Your work will span data models, APIs, user interfaces, testing, and analytics. Since much of what we build directly impacts users’ finances, precision and correctness are prioritized over speed. We seek someone who carefully reads tasks, asks clarifying questions when needed, and writes thorough tests to validate implementations. Daily use of AI coding assistants is part of our workflow, and a significant aspect of your role will involve critically reviewing, testing, and refining code generated by these tools. Your judgment will be as important as your coding speed.

Key Responsibilities

- Extend and enhance the marketing website by building fast, responsive, accessible, and SEO-optimized pages in close collaboration with marketing and design teams.
- Develop product pages end-to-end, owning features from concept through to release. This includes translating designs and requirements into polished front-end experiences supported by reliable backend logic.
- Improve the forecast engine by enhancing the underlying logic and calculations to boost accuracy, performance, and scalability as the product evolves.
- Design secure, well-structured, and well-documented APIs and database schemas that support existing features and scale smoothly for future needs.
- Expand the capabilities of our AI-powered assistant, focusing on improving its usefulness, reliability, and user experience while adhering to best practices around data privacy and responsible AI use.
- Integrate and maintain connections with third-party services such as payments, analytics, CRM, or data providers, ensuring these integrations are secure, resilient, and properly monitored.
- Maintain a healthy codebase by writing clean, tested, and maintainable code, participating in code reviews, and managing technical debt effectively.

Required Qualifications

- 2 to 3 years of professional experience building and shipping web applications, with proficiency in both backend and frontend development.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within the team and across departments.
- Solid expertise in Python and experience with Django or alternative backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Rails.
- Proficient in TypeScript and React; experience with Next.js is a plus.
- Practical knowledge of SQL, including schema design, query writing, and identifying performance issues like N+1 queries. Experience with ORMs is advantageous.
- A disciplined approach to automated testing, integrating tests as part of the development process rather than as an afterthought.
- Hands-on experience building at least one feature that interacts with a large language model (LLM) API, including handling tool calls, structured outputs, and managing errors when the model produces incorrect results.
- Regular use of AI coding assistants (such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) with a critical eye toward reviewing and improving their output.
