We are seeking a highly experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join our onsite team in Islamabad. This role requires ownership of the entire development lifecycle for e-commerce web applications, including database architecture, API design, and frontend delivery using Next.js and React. Candidates must have deep MERN stack expertise, strong skills in both SQL and NoSQL databases, and a proven track record in building and shipping real e-commerce applications. This position is not suitable for fresh graduates or those with less than five years of professional engineering experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop fast, SEO-optimized storefronts and web applications using Next.js (App Router/Pages Router) and React. Implement server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and incremental static regeneration (ISR) as appropriate.
- Build reusable component libraries with state management through Redux, Zustand, or Context API. Ensure mobile-first responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and optimization for Core Web Vitals.
- Design, build, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js and Express.js. Manage complex business logic including product catalogs, carts, checkout, order management, and fulfillment pipelines.
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms such as JWT, OAuth 2.0, and role-based access control (RBAC). Write clean, testable Node.js code with a solid understanding of event loops, streams, and asynchronous patterns.
- Integrate third-party services including payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal), shipping APIs, and tax engines.
- Architect and manage MongoDB schemas for high-volume e-commerce data such as products, variants, inventory, orders, and users. Configure and maintain Supabase (PostgreSQL) for relational data needs, including row-level security and real-time subscriptions.
- Work confidently with both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, selecting the appropriate technology based on data structure and access patterns. Optimize queries, design indexes, and handle migrations, seeding, backups, and schema versioning.
- Build custom e-commerce storefronts and backends outside managed platforms, owning architecture and delivery. Work within headless commerce architectures using Medusa.js or custom commerce engines.
- Implement product feeds, catalog synchronization, pricing logic, discount engines, and multi-currency support.
- Communicate technical decisions clearly to engineers, product managers, and non-technical stakeholders. Produce technical documentation, API references, and architecture decision records.
- Lead and participate in code reviews with a collaborative, knowledge-sharing approach. Proactively identify blockers, contribute to sprint planning, and own feature delivery end-to-end.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on full-stack e-commerce development.
- Expert-level proficiency in Next.js (including SSR, SSG, ISR, App Router) and React with production application experience.
- Strong backend skills in Node.js and Express.js, including API design, middleware, authentication, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB (schema design, aggregations, indexing) and Supabase/PostgreSQL (queries, row-level security, migrations).
- Ability to work with both SQL and NoSQL databases and determine the best fit based on use case.
- Proven experience building and deploying at least one fully custom e-commerce website (storefront, backend, and database).
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment platforms such as Vercel, AWS, or GCP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, capable of clear presentation and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Expertise

- Experience integrating ODOO ERP with web applications, including product synchronization, inventory, order management, and customer data flows. Knowledge of ODOO’s REST or XML-RPC APIs and connecting them to Next.js/Node.js stacks is a plus.
- Background in automotive e-commerce, specifically with auto parts platforms. Experience with fitment filters, vehicle selectors, and part compatibility logic.
- Understanding of ACES (Aftermarket Catalog Exchange Standard) and PIES (Product Information Exchange Standard) data formats, including ingestion, normalization, and API exposure for search and fitment filtering.
- Experience managing large automotive parts catalogs with complex taxonomies, fitment tables, and cross-reference data.

Compensation for this role ranges from PKR 200,000 to PKR 400,000 per month, commensurate with experience and expertise. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned engineer passionate about e-commerce technology and ready to take full ownership of complex, high-impact projects.
