Full-Stack Software Engineer (Python and React)

We are seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer with experience in Python, React, TypeScript, and React Native to join our innovative technology company remotely. This full-time, independent contractor role is open to junior and mid-level candidates based in Pakistan. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain user interfaces using React and TypeScript alongside backend services built with Python frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.
- Build and support React Native mobile applications, understanding the mobile app lifecycle, including building and distribution processes.
- Implement REST APIs, integrate frontend and backend components, and design database models and queries.
- Write unit, integration, and contribute to end-to-end tests to ensure software quality.
- Investigate and resolve defects, optimize application performance, and adhere to secure coding practices.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, QA specialists, and other engineers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Estimate tasks, communicate progress regularly, and proactively raise any risks or blockers.
- Use Git for version control, including branches, pull requests, code reviews, and documentation of technical decisions.
- Employ AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly by verifying generated code and safeguarding client data.

Required Qualifications
- Practical experience in Python development, especially building REST APIs with Django or FastAPI.
- Strong skills in React JS and TypeScript, including reusable components, hooks, state management, and API integration.
- Experience with React Native and a solid understanding of mobile application builds and distribution.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for creating responsive and accessible user interfaces.
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including ORM usage and migrations.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as pytest, Vitest, Jest, or React Testing Library.
- Familiarity with Git-based collaboration workflows, including branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Understanding of security fundamentals like authentication, authorization, input validation, and secure handling of secrets.
- Clear communication skills, a methodical approach to problem-solving, and openness to learning from feedback.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with Go programming language.
- Familiarity with UI libraries such as Material UI or Tailwind CSS.
- Knowledge of end-to-end testing tools like Playwright or Selenium.
- Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS, containerization with Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working on AI-enabled applications using large language model APIs, structured outputs, tool calling, agents, or retrieval-augmented generation.

Candidates are not required to have experience in all additional technologies to apply.

This role is fully remote and requires a full-time commitment as an independent contractor. You will collaborate with distributed teams and work overlapping hours with colleagues and clients based in the UK and Houston.

Success in this position means delivering features that meet acceptance criteria, include appropriate tests, pass code reviews, and resolving defects thoroughly. You will communicate clearly and grow in independence as your experience develops.
