GCP DevOps (Terraform & Kubernetes)

We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Engineer with 4 to 10+ years of overall IT experience and at least 4 to 6 years of hands-on expertise specifically in GCP. The ideal candidate will be responsible for advanced cloud operations, troubleshooting, incident resolution, performance optimization, security enforcement, automation, and infrastructure support across diverse GCP environments. This role involves managing complex production issues escalated from Level 1 and Level 2 teams while collaborating closely with architects, application teams, DevOps, security, and networking professionals.

Key Responsibilities

GCP Infrastructure & Operations
Manage and troubleshoot GCP projects, folders, organizations, and resource hierarchies. Provide support for Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, App Engine, and other GCP services. Perform Level 3 troubleshooting of production infrastructure issues, analyzing CPU, memory, disk, network, and application performance. Oversee VM lifecycle management including machine types, disks, snapshots, and images. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery environments are maintained. Conduct capacity planning and optimize infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.

Networking
Possess strong hands-on knowledge of VPC and Shared VPC, subnets, firewall rules, Cloud Router, Cloud NAT, VPC Peering, Private Google Access, Private Service Connect, Cloud VPN, Cloud Interconnect, load balancers, DNS/Cloud DNS, Network Connectivity Center, and hybrid connectivity between GCP, Azure, and on-premises environments. Responsibilities include troubleshooting routing issues, connectivity failures, DNS resolution problems, firewall blocks, load balancer malfunctions, inter-region connectivity, and hybrid network connectivity challenges.

IAM & Security
Manage IAM roles, service accounts, and custom roles while troubleshooting permission and authentication issues. Implement least-privilege access principles and work with Workload Identity and Workload Identity Federation. Support organization policies and security controls, manage Secret Manager and Key Management Service (KMS), and investigate suspicious activities using Cloud Audit Logs. Collaborate with Security Command Center to address vulnerability findings and support security hardening and compliance requirements.

Monitoring & Incident Management
Demonstrate hands-on experience with Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging. Create and troubleshoot dashboards, policies, log-based metrics, uptime checks, and notification channels. Analyze logs using Logs Explorer with advanced queries. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for Severity 1 and Severity 2 incidents, prepare incident reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Participate actively in on-call rotations and major incident management.

GCP DevOps & Terraform
Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform to automate and manage GCP resources efficiently.

Required Qualifications
- 4 to 10+ years of overall IT experience with 4 to 6+ years of hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience.
- Strong expertise in managing and troubleshooting GCP infrastructure and services.
- In-depth knowledge of GCP networking components and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Proficiency in IAM management, security best practices, and compliance.
- Solid experience in monitoring, logging, and incident management on GCP.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
