GL Accountant

FAAZ Consulting, a technology and professional services firm founded in 2013, is seeking a General Ledger (GL) Accountant to support a U.S.-based client. This is a full-time, fully remote position based in Pakistan, focused on managing general ledger accounting, financial close processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role involves preparing and posting accounting entries, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely close deadlines while working closely with finance and business teams.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and provisions. Review account balances to investigate unusual activities or variances and resolve discrepancies promptly. Complete monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensuring aged reconciling items are cleared. Maintain fixed asset records covering acquisitions, disposals, transfers, impairments, depreciation, and amortization. Manage lease schedules and prepare related journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting reports. Prepare payroll accounting entries, reconcile payroll clearing accounts, validate payroll accruals, and coordinate with HR or payroll providers to resolve any issues. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by preparing management account schedules, financial reporting support, and accounting analyses. Compile audit schedules, provide supporting documentation, and respond to audit inquiries. Adhere strictly to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve or automate accounting processes and reporting to enhance efficiency.

Required Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential. Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ experience in general ledger accounting, Record to Report processes, financial close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Practical knowledge of fixed assets, depreciation, lease accounting, provisions, accruals, bank reconciliations, and payroll accounting is required. Strong technical accounting skills, account analysis, and reconciliation expertise are necessary. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and data analysis, is expected. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills are essential. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies while maintaining audit-ready documentation. Proven capability to work independently, manage deadlines, and coordinate effectively with finance and business teams is required.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience supporting accounting operations for U.S.-based organizations is highly desirable. Familiarity with ERP or financial accounting systems will be an advantage. Candidates with experience in financial close, reporting packages, and audit support will stand out. Demonstrated success in improving or automating accounting and reconciliation processes is a plus. Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent are preferred. The position offers paid time off (PTO) and a fully remote work arrangement aligned with U.S. Eastern Standard Time (9 am to 6 pm EST).

Candidates must be based in Pakistan with reliable internet connectivity and a professional workspace. Availability during the agreed schedule is essential to coordinate with the U.S.-based client. The role requires the ability to securely handle confidential financial and business information.
