Our client, Food Consults, is seeking a Government Relations Manager based in Lahore. This role involves leading a team of four professionals responsible for regulatory compliance and maintaining strong relationships with government agencies. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and independent problem solver with experience in the restaurant, hospitality, retail, or manufacturing sectors. Strong negotiation skills and an established network within Punjab government departments are essential to ensure smooth navigation of all regulatory and administrative requirements. The position requires frequent travel across Lahore branches and fluency in both Urdu and English to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a team of four personnel to ensure efficient administration and government liaison functions.
- Build and sustain productive relationships with key Punjab government departments, including PFA, PRA, Excise, and Labour.
- Monitor changes in regulations and implement compliance protocols to maintain company standards and mitigate legal risks.
- Manage all government documentation, including acquiring, renewing, and maintaining necessary licenses and permits.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports to regulatory authorities in accordance with government requirements.
- Negotiate independently with government officials to resolve compliance issues effectively.
- Coordinate public affairs activities to enhance the company’s reputation and maintain transparency with government bodies.
- Plan and conduct visits to multiple Lahore branches to ensure consistent compliance and address administrative challenges.
- Communicate clearly in both Urdu and English with internal teams, government stakeholders, and external partners.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments and recommend policy improvements to senior management.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align government liaison efforts with the company’s strategic goals.
- Train and mentor team members to enhance their knowledge and skills in regulatory compliance and government relations.
- Respond promptly to unforeseen compliance or regulatory issues to minimize operational disruptions.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience in government relations, regulatory compliance, or a related field within the restaurant, hospitality, retail, or manufacturing industries.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain government networks, particularly within Punjab.
- Ability to lead and manage a small team effectively, balancing leadership with hands-on problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills in both Urdu and English.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly across Lahore branches.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing documentation and reporting.
