We are seeking a detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our USA-based organization. The ideal candidate will have strong written communication skills, experience utilizing AI tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT, and a solid background in researching and developing grant proposals. This role requires a self-motivated professional who can work independently with minimal supervision. Given the time-sensitive nature of grants, reliability, organization, and the ability to meet strict deadlines are essential for success.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research on local, state, federal, private, and foundation grant opportunities.
- Identify new grants, assess eligibility criteria, and understand funding requirements.
- Analyze the feasibility of grant applications and ensure compliance with all guidelines.
- Develop and submit persuasive, customized grant proposals aligned with funders’ goals.
- Tailor proposals to meet specific requirements of each funding organization.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to submission criteria in all proposals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data and information.
- Prepare detailed and accurate budgets for grant applications.
- Maintain a tracking system for deadlines, submissions, and funding statuses.
- Develop and submit compliance reports to funders to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Monitor the progress of submitted proposals, follow up with agencies, and manage revisions.
- Maintain documentation for audits and reporting to ensure full compliance.
- Coordinate with contributors and provide regular updates on proposal status, including executive summaries and organizational credentials.
- Use templates and follow proposal-writing standards to maintain quality, readability, consistency, and tone.
- Continuously improve proposal-writing processes by evaluating and redesigning approaches, coordination, and boilerplate content.
- Keep accurate records of past and current grant opportunities, deadlines, and proposals.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in grant writing, research, and proposal development.
- Exceptional written English skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in AI content generation tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, and familiarity with LaTeX.
- Strong research and analytical abilities to evaluate funding opportunities effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and perform well under pressure.
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting related to grant applications.
- Self-driven and capable of working independently with excellent time management skills.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience working in deadline-driven environments.

Financial Monitoring and Coordination
- Manage grant award allocation, distribution, and internal classification in coordination with Regional Controllers and Donor Services Staff.
- Monitor and track grant revenue and projections for the Grant Unit.
- Review pledge notifications and cash receipts, providing guidance for gift processing.
- Prepare and distribute regular grant income reports, including actual and projected income and remaining pledge balances.

Grant Unit Operations
- Oversee daily management of the grant unit, including administration, data tracking, staff supervision, and technology needs.
- Develop and maintain standard grant management procedures and provide ongoing communication and training for grant unit staff.
- Coordinate special projects such as managing interns, handling small grant applications, and developing Salesforce best practices.
