AI Labs is Autometa’s YouTube channel, with 160K+ subscribers, teaching non-technical people how to build products with AI. We’re hiring a graphic designer to make the thumbnails that get those videos clicked.

Why this role matters Right now our producers design their own thumbnails, which pulls time away from the videos themselves. We need someone who can take a producer’s direction and turn it into a finished thumbnail visual without a long back-and-forth.

The producer gives you the idea and the topic. You bring the creative execution: working out how to make that direction grab attention for that specific video. A lot of that runs through AI image tools, so you’ll need to direct them well: know what to ask for, spot what’s off, and push a generation until it looks right. You’ll enjoy this if you like taking someone’s idea and making it land better than they pictured it.

How we work (read this part carefully)

We’re a small team and we move fast. You’ll work directly with producers, take their direction for each video, and own getting the thumbnail done well.

Every thumbnail has to follow the AI Labs style. It’s what makes our videos recognisable in a crowded feed, so it isn’t optional and it isn’t a loose guide. Creativity happens inside that style, not around it. Within it, you’ll use our assets, AI image tools, and anything else in the kit creatively to make something that earns the click.

What you’ll do

Take a producer’s direction for each video and turn it into a finished thumbnail visual
Use design tools and AI image tools to create and refine visuals
Apply the AI Labs style cleanly and consistently on every thumbnail visual, with no drifting from it
Use our assets and tools creatively so each thumbnail fits its topic and earns the click
Hand producers thumbnails they can use without a long back-and-forth

What we need

A portfolio of your design work (required to apply)
Comfortable designing in Canva
Strong at prompting AI tools. We have a design system you’ll prompt to produce thumbnails, so you need to get what you want out of it. We’ll teach you our setup, so no prior experience with any particular tool is needed.
Good design sense. You can tell what looks good and what grabs attention, and your portfolio shows it.
Good at prompting image generation tools
Able to learn an existing visual style quickly and stick to it precisely
A creative thinker who brings ideas to how a thumbnail should look
Able to understand a producer’s direction clearly and deliver on it
English. The whole process, and the job, runs in English.

Who this is not for This role isn’t for you if:

You prefer slow, perfectionist work. Thumbnails here need fast turnaround.
You’re looking for a broad graphic design role. This is thumbnails only: no branding, print, or social.
You’d rather stick to what you know. The tools and styles that work keep changing, and you’ll need to keep learning and adapting with them.

Hours: Part-time Work mode: On-site during training, hybrid after

Probation: 3 months (can be shortened on performance)

Pay: Rs60,000.00 - Rs100,000.00 per month

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Lahore
