The Grid Manager plays a critical role in driving sales, revenue, and business development within a designated grid. This position is responsible for managing key performance indicators related to mobile broadband, trade visibility, channel development, and cell site utilization. The Grid Manager ensures the growth and quality of 3G and 4G sales, including handset sales, by expanding and enhancing the retailer and smartphone shop network. This role requires close coordination with various teams to optimize stock availability, customer service, and brand visibility across the territory.
Key Responsibilities
Sales:
Focus on increasing revenue from 3G and 4G sales, including handset sales, by establishing new smartphone shops and improving the performance of existing retailers. Ensure the quality of gross additions for 3G/4G services. Drive channel expansion across multiple segments such as SIM selling, mobile load (ML), value-added services (VAS), mobile number portability (MNP), mobile broadband (MBB), ECATs, and postpaid offerings by identifying high-potential areas within the grid. Monitor and ensure timely purchase orders from franchises to maintain consistent stock availability.
Customer Services:
Manage end-to-end complaint resolution, monitor Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and oversee quality assurance to enhance the customer experience at franchise locations.
Visibility:
Coordinate trade marketing efforts including brand visibility initiatives, below-the-line (BTL) activities, trade promotions, market splash events, and special events to boost product awareness and channel engagement within the grid.
Planning:
Identify untapped market areas and guide teams to increase retail penetration. Support Business Development Officers (BDOs) in planning efficient sales routes. Prepare and submit sales forecasts for SIM cards, scratch cards, mobile load, and recharge on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to facilitate effective sales planning. Collaborate with the Regional Sales Head to design localized sales promotions targeting areas with low sales performance and network utilization.
Team Management & Supervision:
Ensure that staff and retailers receive comprehensive training and are well-versed in company products. Conduct regular market visits to verify stock availability and maintain strong relationships with channel partners. Keep partners informed about updates related to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), discipline, targets, and trade promotions.
Merchandising:
Oversee the availability and proper placement of Point of Sale (POS) materials at retail outlets to maximize brand visibility.
Business Development:
Work closely with Marketing and Channel teams to support BTL activities, trade promotions, business development initiatives, and special events within the grid.
Required Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
Work Experience:
Candidates should have between 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, or channel management within the telecommunications or related sectors.
This role demands a proactive individual with strong leadership skills, excellent planning capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively. The Grid Manager will be instrumental in driving growth and ensuring operational excellence across the assigned territory.
