Teleport, Southeast Asia’s leading integrated logistics provider, is expanding its footprint into the Middle East with the launch of its ground corridor in Bahrain. This pivotal role marks Teleport’s first hire in Bahrain and offers a unique opportunity to own and manage the entire ground operations from the moment freight lands until it is delivered across the GCC. The successful candidate will initially operate as an individual contributor, overseeing the Bahrain hub-to-truck handoff, managing trucking partners, and cultivating strong customs and government relationships. As the business grows, this role will evolve into building and leading a local team, developing processes, and scaling operations to meet increasing demand.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end performance of the Middle East ground corridor, ensuring freight clears customs, moves efficiently, and arrives on schedule across GCC markets. Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact customers.
- Manage and hold accountable trucking and transport partners to maintain service standards, negotiate rates, and ensure reliability across all lanes.
- Serve as Teleport’s primary liaison with Bahrain Customs, relevant ministries, and authorities in destination countries, fostering trust and ensuring smooth customs clearance.
- Build and scale the local team, establish operational processes, and develop a playbook to support growth and maintain high service levels.
- Maintain rigorous execution discipline, including accurate reporting, documentation, and adherence to operational fundamentals.
- Prioritize corridor reliability and strengthen customs and ministry relationships in the first year, with cost optimization efforts to follow once operations are stable.

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience managing logistics or freight operations within the GCC region, with a deep understanding of how goods move on the ground, including customs procedures, brokerage, and trucking partnerships.
- Strong regulatory knowledge to ensure consistent customs clearance and the ability to build and maintain effective government relationships.
- Comfortable working both on the warehouse floor and in high-level meetings with government officials. Capable of independently managing operations today and building a team for tomorrow.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is essential for daily communication with authorities and partners. Proficiency in Hindi or Urdu is a significant advantage for engaging with the driver workforce.
- Bahraini nationality is required due to the role’s ministry-facing responsibilities and Bahrainisation policies.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Background in air cargo or charter operations is advantageous.
- Awareness of dangerous goods handling and cargo security protocols.
- An existing network of customs brokers, freight forwarders, and trucking operators across the region is highly desirable.

Teleport is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every team member feels valued. We believe that diverse perspectives drive innovation and excellence in logistics. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds who share our passion for making logistics faster, more affordable, and reliable across Southeast Asia and beyond. If you are ready to take ownership of a critical market and help shape the future of regional logistics, Teleport offers an exciting platform to grow your career.
