Head of Inventory & Inventory Control

Fresh Basket is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Head of Inventory & Inventory Control to lead inventory management and accuracy across all company outlets and warehouses. This leadership role requires a hands-on approach to not only monitor inventory but also to analyze data deeply, identify root causes of discrepancies, and recommend strategic improvements. The ideal candidate will work closely with multiple departments to optimize inventory processes and ensure operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure inventory accuracy across all Fresh Basket locations by implementing and maintaining robust inventory controls.
- Monitor and reconcile physical inventory against system records, investigating and resolving any variances promptly.
- Analyze key inventory metrics such as turnover rates, stock days, stock-to-sales ratios, wastage, shrinkage, slow-moving stock, and stock-outs to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement optimal procurement, replenishment, and stock-level strategies to maintain balance between demand and supply.
- Establish and oversee cycle counts and audit processes to maintain high standards of inventory control.
- Utilize large datasets to detect anomalies, trends, and opportunities for operational enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Finance, Operations, and IT teams to drive improvements in inventory performance and reporting.
- Create dashboards and data-driven reports to provide management with actionable insights.
- Identify control weaknesses, leakage points, and recurring inventory discrepancies, recommending corrective actions to mitigate risks.

Required Qualifications:
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in inventory control, retail, FMCG, supply chain analytics, or internal/external audit.
- Experience working with reputable audit firms, preferably Big 4, is highly desirable.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a proven ability to work effectively with large datasets.
- Proficiency in Excel and data management tools.
- Experience with ERP systems is essential; familiarity with Odoo is considered an advantage.
- Understanding of inventory controls, accounting principles, and retail operations.
- Highly detail-oriented and commercially minded, with the ability to translate data insights into practical business recommendations.
- Comfortable leading a data-driven approach to problem-solving beyond routine reporting.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Experience with Power BI or other data analytics platforms is a plus, enhancing the ability to develop insightful dashboards and reports.
- This position is based in Karachi and requires in-person attendance.
- The role offers a starting salary from Rs70,000 per month, reflecting the seniority and responsibility of the position.
