Head of IT / Head of HPC & AI

Betacodes Pak (Pvt.) Ltd. is seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Head of IT / Head of HPC & AI to lead and oversee the company’s IT infrastructure, High-Performance Computing (HPC), AI/ML technology initiatives, and overall technical operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills combined with an in-depth technical background in IT infrastructure, HPC environments, AI/ML platforms, cloud technologies, networking, cybersecurity, and systems administration. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align IT capabilities with business goals while managing a high-performing technical team.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the organization’s entire IT infrastructure, systems, networks, and technical operations to ensure seamless performance.
- Design, implement, and maintain High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure and environments tailored to organizational needs.
- Oversee the deployment, optimization, and management of AI/ML computing infrastructure, including GPU-based systems and related platforms.
- Develop and execute IT strategies that align with the company’s business and technology objectives.
- Manage servers, storage, virtualization, networking, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise IT systems to maintain operational excellence.
- Ensure the availability, scalability, reliability, and security of IT and HPC infrastructure.
- Lead infrastructure planning for AI/ML workloads, including resource allocation, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
- Oversee cybersecurity measures, access controls, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
- Monitor infrastructure performance proactively and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Manage relationships with IT vendors, technology procurement, licensing, and infrastructure budgets effectively.
- Establish and maintain IT policies, standards, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance and operational consistency.
- Ensure adherence to relevant information security and IT governance requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the IT/HPC technical team, fostering growth and collaboration.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, AI/ML, DevOps, Projects, Operations, and Management teams to support technical requirements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance infrastructure capabilities and operational efficiency.
- Provide regular technical reports, infrastructure updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to senior management.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, systems, networking, HPC, cloud, or related technical domains.
- Proven track record in a senior IT leadership or infrastructure management role.
- Strong expertise in High-Performance Computing (HPC), Linux/Windows Server environments, networking and infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with GPU/AI computing environments, storage and backup solutions, cybersecurity, access management, DevOps, and automation.
- Proficient in system monitoring and performance optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead technical teams effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with GPU clusters and AI/ML infrastructure.
- Familiarity with CUDA, Kubernetes, Docker, Slurm, or similar HPC/container orchestration technologies.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Experience with enterprise security frameworks and IT governance.
- Exposure to research computing, AI/ML workloads, data platforms, or large-scale computing environments.
