The Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) division serves over 11 million clients in some of the fastest-growing markets globally. Our client spectrum ranges from mass retail to affluent individuals, including high-net-worth clients served by our Private Bank. We combine digital banking channels with personalized human interaction to deliver differentiated products and services, including deposits, payments, financing, wealth management, and tailored advice. Additionally, we support small business clients with their banking needs.
This role is responsible for designing and implementing the Global Wealth Management strategy tailored to local market dynamics, client needs, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will lead the growth and integration of Wealth Management solutions across key client segments, focusing on Affluent, SME, and Employee Banking clients. They will drive wealth product penetration and performance across all relevant channels, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and deliver on customer, business, revenue, and profitability objectives. The role aims to establish a sustainable, client-centric Wealth Management franchise within the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the in-country Wealth Management strategy, ensuring alignment with Group Wealth priorities, country business goals, and client segment strategies to drive sustainable growth.
- Provide strategic leadership across Investment Strategy & Advisory, Wealth Markets Products, and Sales by translating Group Wealth product strategy into an effective local proposition that meets evolving client needs and regulatory standards.
- Develop and continuously enhance the consolidated Wealth strategy across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons, collaborating with Business Heads, client segments, and support functions to prioritize initiatives and monitor performance.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the local business environment, competitive landscape, client needs, and emerging trends to identify growth opportunities and cross-sell potential.
- Drive commercial performance by setting and monitoring sales, revenue, service, and productivity KPIs, allocating resources effectively, and implementing corrective actions to meet business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to grow the Wealth franchise by acquiring new clients, deepening existing relationships, increasing product penetration, and optimizing portfolios for sustainable revenue.
- Lead the development of customer-centric Wealth propositions in collaboration with internal teams, external product providers, and regulators, ensuring compliance and value delivery.
- Enhance operational effectiveness by improving policies, processes, systems, and workflows to support the Wealth strategy, improve customer experience, and enable scalable growth.
- Ensure strong governance and regulatory compliance across the Wealth business, aligning with internal policies, external regulations, and audit requirements.
- Provide leadership to the Wealth team by setting clear strategic direction, establishing priorities, fostering collaboration, and ensuring adequate resources and capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in Wealth Management strategy development and execution within a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple stakeholders and teams.
- Deep understanding of investment products, wealth advisory, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the local market.
- Demonstrated ability to drive commercial results through effective sales and product management.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
