Healthcare Data & Integration Developer (Raintree / SQL)

Xerosum is looking for a skilled developer to join a client’s technology team supporting healthcare organizations in the United States. The role centers on creating and maintaining reports, performing data extractions, and developing system integrations. The developer will work closely with the client’s technical team and gradually gain experience with Raintree, a practice management and electronic health record (EHR) platform. This position demands strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strict adherence to healthcare data privacy standards.

Key Responsibilities
Write, optimize, and maintain SQL reports and data extracts to meet business requirements. Build and support REST/JSON API integrations, including internal web API endpoints, RingCentral, SFTP data feeds, and payment processors. Develop scripts using Raintree’s proprietary scripting language (RSL) as part of ongoing learning. Collaborate with the team through Git, participating in regular code reviews to ensure high code quality and consistency. Handle patient data securely and in full compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Required Qualifications
Strong proficiency in SQL, including expertise in indexing, query plans, and performance tuning. Experience developing and consuming REST/JSON APIs. Proven ability to learn proprietary or niche programming languages on the job, such as Progress/OpenEdge 4GL, MUMPS/Caché (Epic, Meditech), NetSuite SuiteScript, Salesforce Apex, Dynamics/AL, or other in-house scripting languages. Experience managing protected health information (PHI) within a HIPAA-regulated environment is essential. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check and sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Comfort working with Git and engaging in code review workflows is required.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
Prior experience with Raintree, either as a former employee or as a developer supporting a Raintree clinic, is highly desirable. Familiarity with healthcare revenue cycle processes, including CPT/ICD-10 coding, modifiers, authorizations, payer rules, and X12 transaction sets (837/835/270/271), is a plus. Experience in outpatient physical therapy or rehabilitation settings, with knowledge of plans of care, visit limits, and therapy billing rules, will be beneficial. PHP programming experience is considered an advantage. The role requires availability to work during US Eastern business hours and is an in-person position.
