We are seeking an experienced HSE Supervisor for a 12-month contract to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance within our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety management, particularly within petroleum retail outlets, fuel depots, terminals, or similar hydrocarbon-handling facilities. This role requires hands-on expertise in gas testing and the ability to ensure a safe working environment through vigilant monitoring and enforcement of safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and implement health, safety, and environmental policies in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage gas testing operations, including the use, bump-testing, and interpretation of calibrated multi-gas/LEL detectors (LEL, H₂S, CO, O₂).
- Provide training and guidance to site personnel on safe work practices and emergency response procedures.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with operational teams to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of safety audits, inspections, and training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) or Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) in a relevant discipline.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of dedicated experience in health and safety roles.
- Proven competency in gas testing, including operation and interpretation of multi-gas detectors.
