Hybrid Mobile App Developer

Located in Lahore, Pakistan, this on-site role requires a skilled mobile developer with 3-4 years of experience to join immediately. The position involves working from 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM Pakistan Time, focusing on building high-quality cross-platform applications for both Android and iOS using Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and performant apps with a native look and feel, collaborating closely with backend, QA, product, and design teams to ensure smooth releases on the Play Store and App Store.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy cross-platform mobile applications targeting Android and iOS using Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform. Build native Android features leveraging Kotlin and Jetpack Compose while integrating with iOS through Swift/SwiftUI interop, expect/actual declarations, and native SDKs when shared code is insufficient. Maximize shared code across domain, data, networking, and persistence layers while maintaining platform-specific user experiences. Architect offline-first solutions with reliable synchronization, conflict resolution, and retry mechanisms, especially for payment-critical workflows. Implement secure networking and storage practices tailored for financial applications. Create responsive and adaptive user interfaces optimized for phones, tablets, foldables, and various screen densities. Develop scalable, modular, and testable codebases following clean architecture principles. Profile and optimize app startup time, rendering performance, memory usage, and battery consumption on both platforms. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver timely releases on app stores.

Required Qualifications

Strong proficiency in Kotlin, including advanced features such as coroutines, Flow, and sealed classes. Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, including state hoisting, recomposition optimization, side effects, and navigation. Demonstrated production experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform targeting Android and iOS. Working knowledge of the iOS development ecosystem, including Xcode, Swift basics, CocoaPods/SPM, provisioning, and code signing. Solid understanding of architectural patterns like MVVM, MVI, and unidirectional data flow. Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Dagger Hilt for Android and Koin or kotlin-inject for shared KMP modules. Proven ability to deliver hybrid or cross-platform apps, making informed decisions on shared versus native code. Experience bridging native platform APIs including camera, biometrics, NFC, push notifications, and deep links. Expertise in networking using Ktor Client (KMP) and Retrofit/OkHttp (Android), with knowledge of interceptors, authentication token refresh, and error handling. Proficiency in serialization with kotlinx.serialization. Familiarity with offline storage solutions like SQLDelight (KMP), Room, or DataStore. Lifecycle-aware state management and process death handling on Android, along with state restoration on iOS. Ability to create responsive UI layouts using window size classes and adaptive design principles. Strong focus on security practices relevant to payments, including secure storage with Android Keystore and iOS Keychain, SSL/certificate pinning, encrypted local data, secure token/session handling, biometric authentication, and awareness of obfuscation, root/jailbreak detection, and PCI-DSS compliance. Adherence to clean code practices, SOLID principles, and modular Gradle architecture. Experience with Git workflows encompassing branching strategies, pull request reviews, and conventional commits. Skilled in unit testing using JUnit, kotlin.test, MockK, and Turbine for Flow, as well as UI testing with Compose UI Test framework and XCTest. Proficient in debugging and profiling tools such as Android Studio Profiler, Xcode Instruments, and LeakCanary.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile development, utilizing tools like GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Fastlane, and automated Play Store/TestFlight deployments. Familiarity with other cross-platform frameworks such as Flutter or React Native. Background in native iOS development using SwiftUI.
