The Identity Management Consultant volunteer role is a remote position aimed at enhancing the school’s identity and access management practices. The consultant will assess current processes related to user provisioning, authentication, and authorization, and recommend improvements to strengthen security. This role also involves supporting the secure integration of various systems and platforms used by both learners and staff. The consultant may contribute to designing or refining policies and procedures around cybersecurity, network security, information security, and identity governance. Advising on identity management tools such as Oracle Identity Manager or similar solutions is also a key part of the role. Collaboration with technical teams and program leaders is essential to ensure that security measures support safe, scalable, and accessible learning experiences for underserved youth.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing identity and access management processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Recommend and help implement enhancements in user provisioning, authentication, and authorization workflows.
- Support secure integration of technology platforms used by learners and staff.
- Assist in developing or refining cybersecurity, network security, and identity governance policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance on identity management tools such as Oracle Identity Manager or comparable platforms.
- Collaborate with technical personnel and program leaders to align security practices with educational goals.
- Ensure identity management solutions promote safe, scalable, and accessible learning environments.
Required Qualifications
- Strong foundation in cybersecurity, network security, and information security, with practical application to identity and access management.
- Experience working with Oracle Identity Manager or similar identity management platforms, including configuration, administration, or integration.
- Proven consulting skills, including the ability to assess systems, develop recommendations, and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of identity governance, access control best practices, and relevant security frameworks such as IAM, RBAC, and least privilege principles.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage volunteer commitments effectively, and collaborate with diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
