Implementation Specialist

A leading North American tech startup specializing in all-in-one transportation management software for K-12 school districts is seeking a dynamic Business Operations professional. This role spans multiple departments including Product and Engineering, Customer Experience, and Go-to-Market teams, adapting to the company’s evolving priorities each quarter. The position offers a unique opportunity to tackle diverse challenges—from refining product management workflows to redesigning customer experience processes and training teams accordingly. Emphasizing an AI-first approach, the role requires leveraging AI tools to research, draft, analyze, build, and test solutions, enabling one person to achieve what previously required a small team. Candidates will start by mastering manual processes before automating and delegating them to relevant teams. Early in the role, you will take on significant responsibility, working closely with senior leaders on critical business problems, providing a strong platform for accelerated career growth and meaningful impact within the company.

Key Responsibilities

- End-to-end problem ownership: Lead ambiguous, cross-functional challenges such as reducing time-to-go-live, understanding margin by customer type, or resolving Sales and Engineering alignment issues. Manage these problems from initial diagnosis through to implementation and measurement of effective solutions.

- Operating mechanisms: Design and optimize team cadences, ownership structures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and decision rules. Reduce manual workload by introducing tooling, automation, and AI agents to streamline processes.

- Special projects: Take ownership of quarterly priorities that lack existing owners or established playbooks, adapting quickly to new business needs and driving results.

Required Qualifications

- 2 to 4 years of professional experience, ideally in management consulting, investment banking, or business operations within a SaaS environment.

- Proven AI-first mindset with hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, applying AI as a force multiplier across research, analysis, drafting, and solution building.

- Strong analytical and structured thinking skills, capable of breaking down vague problems into frameworks and quantitatively measuring outcomes. Advanced Excel modeling skills are essential.

- Systems thinker with the ability to understand the business as an interconnected machine, anticipating second-order effects before implementing changes.

- Excellent communication skills with executive presence; able to convey ideas concisely, credibly, and clearly to senior stakeholders. Superior written English proficiency is required.

- Ability to work hours fully overlapping with Eastern Time.
