Import & Export officer - Hightech Solutions

Our client, Hightech Solutions, is seeking a skilled Import & Export Officer to join their team in Lahore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end import and export processes, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and maintaining strong relationships with logistics partners. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational and negotiation skills to support the company’s shipping activities and optimize cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the importation and exportation of goods and materials, ensuring smooth operations.
- Ensure full compliance with international trade laws and customs regulations.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with customs brokers, logistics providers, and suppliers.
- Prepare, review, and manage all necessary documentation related to imports and exports.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align shipping activities with overall company objectives.
- Monitor shipping schedules and delivery timelines, promptly addressing any discrepancies or delays.
- Negotiate freight contracts to ensure cost-effective shipping solutions.
- Resolve customs or shipment issues efficiently to minimize disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and prepare detailed reports for management review.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in import/export operations or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of international trade laws, customs processes, and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with logistics software.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work on-site and manage flexible hours in accordance with shipping schedules.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information:
- Certification in international trade or customs is preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully managing import/export activities.
- Familiarity with customs procedures across different countries.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and external partners.
- High degree of professionalism and integrity.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel locally to meet with clients and partners.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
