We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Import Officer to oversee and manage the import operations related to raw materials, machinery, and spare parts for plastic manufacturing. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating with international suppliers, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and facilitating the timely clearance of shipments to support uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire import process from order placement to shipment tracking and delivery coordination.
- Communicate effectively with international suppliers for procurement of raw materials such as PET resin, masterbatch, additives, and machinery parts.
- Handle all import documentation including Letters of Credit (L/C), Form-E, Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Goods Declaration (GD) filing.
- Ensure strict compliance with customs regulations, SROs, and import policies.
- Coordinate with clearing agents, freight forwarders, and shipping lines to ensure timely clearance of shipments.
- Monitor shipment schedules closely to minimize demurrage and detention costs.
- Maintain accurate records of all import transactions and prepare detailed reports for management review.
- Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to guarantee a continuous supply of materials.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in import operations, preferably within the plastic or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of import procedures, customs clearance processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Practical experience working with ERP systems and managing import documentation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Familiarity with the supply chain of PET, HDPE, and other plastic raw materials.
- Knowledge of HS codes, duty structures, and SRO regulations.
- Experience working with international vendors from regions such as China, UAE, and Europe.
