Sorty Denimking is seeking a qualified professional to join their textile and apparel manufacturing facility as an Incharge – Laboratory at their Korangi Industrial Area location in Karachi. This onsite role is ideal for candidates with a background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields who have experience in laboratory operations and chemical management. The position involves maintaining testing standards, managing laboratory equipment, ensuring proper documentation, and enforcing chemical safety protocols. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing chemical and physical testing activities, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), and implementing the Chemical Management System throughout the mill. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee chemical and physical laboratory operations, ensuring testing activities adhere to required procedures and results are accurately recorded.
- Manage laboratory testing, maintain comprehensive records, and support data analysis to ensure traceability and reliability of test outcomes.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and coordinate maintenance as needed.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure all laboratory activities comply with these guidelines.
- Implement and monitor the Chemical Management System across the facility, ensuring proper chemical handling, storage, and inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with Restricted Substances Lists (RSL) and Manufacturing Restricted Substances Lists (MRSL), along with chemical safety, spill response, and secure handling practices.
- Maintain a safety-conscious approach to all laboratory and chemical management tasks, minimizing workplace risks and supporting organizational safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a relevant scientific discipline.
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience in a textile or apparel laboratory setting or chemical management role.
- Practical knowledge of laboratory operations, chemical testing procedures, equipment handling, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with documentation standards, chemical safety protocols, and compliance with SOPs.
- Ability to work onsite in Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi, and adhere to industrial safety requirements.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
- Experience with chemical inventory control, chemical handling procedures, and safety documentation is advantageous.
