The Incubation Officer plays a vital role in supporting the planning and execution of NICF’s incubation programs. This position acts as a primary liaison for startups throughout their incubation journey, collaborating closely with founders, mentors, industry partners, and internal teams. The goal is to foster startup growth, enhance ecosystem engagement, and ensure the successful delivery of various incubation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of incubation activities, including onboarding startups, managing cohort engagement, organizing workshops, mentoring sessions, networking events, and other related programs.
- Assist in the startup selection and induction process by screening applications, conducting startup landscaping, preparing pitches, and facilitating cohort onboarding.
- Serve as the main point of contact for incubated startups, ensuring continuous support and connecting them with mentors, experts, investors, industry contacts, and essential resources.
- Support startups in critical areas such as business modeling, sales and marketing, fundraising, operations, and growth planning by linking them to appropriate resources and specialists.
- Develop and manage workshops, training sessions, webinars, networking opportunities, and industry engagements tailored to startup needs and program goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mentors, industry professionals, investors, partners, and other ecosystem stakeholders to expand opportunities for startups.
- Facilitate connections between startups and industry players or investors, including organizing pitching sessions and business development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of startups, monitor their progress and engagement, and assist in collecting and analyzing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) data.
- Contribute to the preparation of program reports, activity updates, and performance analyses, using insights to improve future incubation efforts.
- Collaborate with the communications team to highlight startup success stories, provide program updates, and manage stakeholder communications.
- Support the growth and engagement of the NICF alumni network and participate in broader ecosystem initiatives.
- Ensure smooth daily coordination of incubation activities, maintaining professionalism and delivering a positive experience for startups and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Economics, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in startup incubation, entrepreneurship development, business development, program coordination, community management, or similar environments.
- Experience working with startups, entrepreneurs, accelerators, incubators, entrepreneurship programs, or innovation ecosystems is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of business models, startup development, marketing, sales, and basic fundraising concepts.
- Excellent communication, presentation, coordination, and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, with the ability to prepare reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and manage digital platforms.
