The Infrastructure Cabling and Installation Specialist will be responsible for managing the technical engineering aspects of structured cabling and infrastructure projects from the office. This role ensures that all scopes of work are accurately designed, quantified, and documented to facilitate smooth remote field execution. Working closely with the Director of Technology Solutions, the specialist will focus on delivering precise engineering packages that comply with industry standards and support efficient installation and service coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Takeoff: Develop detailed telecom room layouts (MDF/IDF), pathway designs, horizontal and backbone copper and fiber cabling plans, cable schedules, and rack elevations using architectural and telecom drawings.

Estimating & KitCheck: Calculate bills of materials (BOM) and labor requirements to assist the Technology Estimator. Submit engineering packages through KitCheck and address any issues or discrepancies identified.

Technical Standards & Remote Engineering: Ensure compliance with ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards, as well as warranty requirements. Prepare method statements and review field-submitted test results, photographs, and as-built documentation to verify quality and adherence to specifications.

Delivery & Service Coordination: Manage technical handoffs, submittals, requests for information (RFIs), and substitutions. Provide remote technical support to field teams and escalate service desk faults as necessary to maintain project timelines and quality.

Required Qualifications

Education: A degree or diploma in electrical, electronics, telecommunications, or IT engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

Experience: A minimum of five years’ experience in structured cabling design, office-based engineering, estimating, or remote installation supervision. Familiarity with US standards, particularly TIA and BICSI guidelines, is preferred.

Skills: Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and telecom drawings. Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or Revit for drawing review and quantity takeoffs. Excellent technical English communication skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications such as BICSI RCDD or Installer 2 are highly desirable. Manufacturer certifications from CommScope, Panduit, or Belden will be considered an advantage.

This position operates on US Central Time hours (8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Saturday) and is based in the Lahore, Pakistan office. The role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of delivering high-quality engineering documentation to support remote field teams effectively.
