Inkscape Specialist

This hourly, remote contractor position seeks an experienced Inkscape Specialist to develop realistic and challenging computer-based tasks using Inkscape and related vector design workflows. The role involves designing practical Inkscape assignments, clearly documenting them in SuperAnnotate, ensuring the technical setup supports the tasks, and recording the task execution on your computer. Your contributions will support the training of advanced AI models by demonstrating how real users complete vector graphics and design workflows.

Key Responsibilities

- Create realistic Inkscape tasks that are both practical and challenging, then document these tasks clearly within the SuperAnnotate platform.
- Prepare your work environment by ensuring Inkscape is installed, necessary files and assets are available, and fonts or images are ready before recording begins.
- Record yourself performing the Inkscape tasks, following project instructions closely to maintain clarity, completeness, and realism in the workflow.
- Provide detailed task context, including steps, goals, files, assets, and notes, so reviewers fully understand the task and its completion process.
- Demonstrate practical use of Inkscape features such as vector paths, node editing, shapes, text, layers, alignment, gradients, clipping, masking, tracing, SVG cleanup, and exporting files for web, print, or presentations.
- Review your recordings and documentation prior to submission to ensure tasks are complete, understandable, realistic, and aligned with project guidelines.

Required Qualifications

- Proven hands-on experience with Inkscape for vector graphics, SVG editing, illustration, diagrams, icons, logos, layouts, or export workflows.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher to accurately comprehend project instructions, document tasks clearly, and communicate effectively with the project team.
- Comfortable using a computer to manage design files, open necessary programs, navigate design interfaces, and record workflows.
- Ability to conceive realistic and challenging Inkscape tasks that reflect actual use cases in design, illustration, diagramming, marketing, education, administration, or content creation.
- Strong understanding of Inkscape fundamentals, including paths, nodes, shapes, layers, alignment, text, gradients, fills and strokes, clipping, masking, tracing, and export formats.
- Capability to ensure your setup supports task requirements, including having Inkscape installed and all relevant files, fonts, images, and references prepared before recording.
- High attention to detail in task preparation, workflow execution, and quality review of recordings to ensure clarity and completeness.
- Reliable and self-directed work ethic, able to deliver consistent quality in a remote, hourly contractor role across different time zones.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Additional skills in graphic design, illustration, marketing, web design, education, technical documentation, administration, or other computer-based workflows are highly valued. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to improving leading AI models by teaching them how real users complete practical vector design, illustration, diagramming, and export tasks. You will be part of SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, working with some of the world’s largest AI companies and foundation-model labs.
