Integration Engineers play a critical role in designing, building, and supporting the interfaces that connect the Lab Information System (LIS) with instruments, Electronic Health Records (EHRs), hospitals, and third-party systems. Working primarily on an Azure-based .NET backend, these engineers ensure the reliable transfer of HL7 and FHIR messages between systems while maintaining the health and performance of production integrations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations between the TrueMed platform and external third-party systems.
- Build and manage REST and SOAP APIs to facilitate seamless communication.
- Implement HL7 and FHIR interfaces alongside TCP/IP-based communication protocols.
- Perform data mapping, transformation, and message routing using JSON and XML formats.
- Monitor and troubleshoot integration processes in production environments to ensure stability.
- Ensure security, scalability, and optimal performance of all integration solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define integration strategies.
- Participate in testing, deployment, and ongoing support activities.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while actively engaging in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for integrations and workflows.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Between 2 to 5+ years of experience in system integration or middleware development.
- Working knowledge of HL7 and FHIR protocols essential for healthcare data exchange.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP communications and networking fundamentals.
- Proficiency in API development, including REST and SOAP services.
- Experience with data formats such as JSON and XML, including data transformation techniques.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, SQL, and relational database management.
- Exposure to messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ is highly beneficial.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Relevant industry certifications are considered an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with .NET and Azure technologies, particularly within the TrueMed platform stack.
- Previous experience working with healthcare or laboratory information systems is highly desirable.
- The role offers clear growth opportunities, including progression to senior individual contributor or technical leadership positions as ownership of integrations expands.

Successful candidates will demonstrate productive contributions to the codebase within the first 90 days, deliver well-scoped and reliable integrations, and maintain stable, well-monitored production interfaces supported by documented workflows. Clear and professional communication, end-to-end ownership of assigned work, and a customer-focused mindset are essential to thrive in this role.
