This hourly, remote contractor position seeks an IntelliJ IDEA Specialist (SME) to develop realistic and challenging computer-based tasks using IntelliJ IDEA and related software development workflows. The role involves designing practical IDE tasks, documenting them clearly in SuperAnnotate, ensuring the technical setup supports each task, and recording task execution on your computer. These tasks may include creating Java or Kotlin projects, configuring SDKs, running and debugging code, managing builds with Maven or Gradle, handling Git integration, refactoring, writing tests, and troubleshooting build issues. Your contributions will support the training of advanced AI models by demonstrating how real users complete software development workflows within IntelliJ IDEA.

Key Responsibilities
- Create realistic IntelliJ IDEA tasks that are both challenging and executable, then document them clearly in SuperAnnotate.
- Prepare and verify the work environment, ensuring IntelliJ IDEA is installed, projects and files are ready, SDKs are configured, dependencies installed, and any necessary references are available before recording.
- Record yourself performing the IntelliJ IDEA tasks, following project instructions to ensure workflows are clear, complete, and reflect real-world usage.
- Provide comprehensive task context, including detailed steps, goals, project files, dependencies, and notes to help reviewers understand the task and its completion process.
- Demonstrate practical software development workflows such as coding, debugging, refactoring, build management with Maven or Gradle, terminal usage, Git integration, project setup, and troubleshooting when applicable.
- Maintain high-quality submissions by reviewing recordings and documentation to ensure tasks are complete, understandable, realistic, and aligned with project guidelines.

Required Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience with IntelliJ IDEA, particularly in Java or Kotlin development, backend workflows, debugging, project setup, refactoring, build tools, and Git integration.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher to comprehend project instructions, document tasks clearly, and communicate effectively with the project team.
- Comfortable managing computer environments, including opening projects, configuring SDKs, installing dependencies, and recording workflows.
- Ability to design realistic and challenging IntelliJ IDEA tasks that mirror actual coding, debugging, testing, build, or project setup scenarios.
- Strong understanding of IntelliJ IDEA fundamentals such as project structure, SDK configuration, run/debug configurations, refactoring, Maven/Gradle builds, terminal use, code navigation, and version control systems.
- Attention to detail in preparing tasks, executing workflows, and ensuring recordings are complete and clear.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of delivering consistent quality in a remote, hourly contractor role across different time zones.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Additional skills in Java, Kotlin, backend development, quality assurance, GitHub, DevOps, technical writing, or other computer-based workflows are highly valued. This role is with SME Careers, a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, a fast-growing AI Data Services company that provides training data to leading AI companies and foundation-model labs. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving premier AI models by teaching them how professional users complete practical coding, debugging, and project management tasks within IntelliJ IDEA.
