We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Auditor to join our team in Karachi. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in verifying compliance with established controls and improving the accuracy and reliability of inventory reporting across multiple retail outlets. Immediate joiners will be given preference for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct scanning of inventory and perform stock-taking and cash counting at retail outlets according to the audit plan.
- Verify adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) at each outlet.
- Examine manual records, bank cash deposits, customer exchanges, returns, and claims to ensure accuracy.
- Review and validate expenses incurred at the outlet level.
- Carry out random spot checks on inventory to detect discrepancies.
- Investigate shortages and overages in inventory and prepare detailed stock variation reports.
- Calculate article-wise discounts on inventory items.
- Maintain comprehensive audit reports for every retail outlet.
- Investigate discrepancies related to damaged or defective stock.
- Review pending delivery challans at the outlet level to ensure proper documentation.
- Identify and report negative inventory balances promptly for resolution.
- Detect and report any malpractice or irregularities discovered during audits.
- Coordinate effectively with the Accounts and Operations departments as required.
- Support the internal audit team in meeting departmental goals.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Head of Internal Audit.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum education of a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years of experience in an internal audit role, preferably within the retail sector.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and investigative abilities to identify discrepancies and irregularities.
- Good understanding of audit processes and retail operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
- Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and coordination skills to liaise with various departments.
- Willingness to work late hours, travel to outstation locations, and perform night shifts as necessary.
- Must have own conveyance for field visits and outlet audits.
