We are looking for a skilled Fiber Optic Technician to join our Operations team based in Lahore. The successful candidate will have practical experience in fiber optic testing, installation, and maintenance, along with the capability to lead and train a team effectively. This is a full-time, permanent position requiring on-site work and offers a competitive monthly salary. The role involves hands-on technical work as well as supervisory responsibilities to ensure the integrity and performance of fiber optic networks.
Key Responsibilities
Perform fiber optic testing using devices such as Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), light sources, and meters to verify network quality. Carry out fiber optic cable termination, splicing, troubleshooting, and testing in line with company standards. Maintain accurate documentation of equipment locations, splicing, and termination details within the fiber database. Install fiber optic cables for both aerial and underground deployments. Oversee contractor installations to ensure compliance with specifications, acceptable dB loss, and proper documentation. Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot dark fiber and internal lit fiber optic networks. Ensure that time and materials are correctly allocated to the appropriate cost centers. Support the training, guidance, and direction of Outside Plant (OSP) Technicians to improve team performance.
Required Qualifications
A Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) or FSc with relevant additional experience is required. Candidates must have a minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience working with a Telecom or Internet Service Provider, demonstrating proficiency with fiber optic technologies and equipment. At least 1-2 years of experience in a team lead role is essential. Strong presentation and communication skills are necessary to effectively convey technical information. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and other advanced features, is required. Demonstrated ability in team-building and management is expected.

Experience in training and mentoring technical staff is highly valued. The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs50,000 to Rs55,000.
