IT Infrastructure & Systems Administrator

The IT Infrastructure & Systems Administrator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Karachi. The primary responsibility is to manage and maintain the company’s servers, workstations, and core IT systems to ensure stable, secure, and efficient operations throughout the facility. This includes daily monitoring of system performance, performing backups, applying updates and patches, and managing user accounts and access controls. The role also involves supporting network equipment, diagnosing connectivity issues, and maintaining reliable internet and internal communications.

In addition to system and network management, the administrator provides technical support to staff by troubleshooting hardware and software problems. Coordination with vendors for repairs or upgrades is part of the role, along with contributing to IT documentation, enforcing security best practices, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance IT infrastructure and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and maintain servers, workstations, and core IT systems to ensure operational stability and security.
- Monitor system performance, conduct regular backups, and apply necessary updates and patches.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls to safeguard company data.
- Support and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and LAN/WAN environments.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues to ensure uninterrupted communication.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Coordinate with external vendors for hardware repairs, software licensing, and IT services.
- Maintain IT documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and security protocols.
- Implement and uphold IT security best practices to protect company assets.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to optimize IT infrastructure and processes.

Required Qualifications

- Strong system administration skills, including server management, operating system configuration, and user account administration.
- Solid network administration experience covering switches, routers, firewalls, LAN/WAN management, and network performance monitoring.
- Hands-on technical support and troubleshooting expertise for hardware, software, and peripheral devices in industrial or office settings.
- Broad IT knowledge encompassing backup and recovery procedures, security best practices, and basic database or application support.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, respond promptly to incidents, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical team members.
