Biotech Energy (Pvt.) Ltd. is seeking a hands-on IT professional to manage and troubleshoot the company’s entire network and IT infrastructure. This role is based at the Lahore Head Office with occasional support to other sites as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in MikroTik router configuration, Wi-Fi access point management, SCADA network connectivity, email and account administration, CCTV networking, dish-based internet services, attendance machine networking, and video conferencing setup. Additionally, the candidate will provide first-line support for Microsoft Teams, ERP systems, and other business software used within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and manage MikroTik routers, including routing, NAT, firewall, DHCP, bandwidth control, and VLAN setup as required.
- Manage and troubleshoot dish-based and wireless internet services connected through MikroTik devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain Wi-Fi networks using access points to ensure optimal coverage, stability, and performance.
- Diagnose and resolve office network issues such as slow speeds, disconnections, IP conflicts, cable faults, and switch malfunctions.
- Support SCADA network connectivity by troubleshooting IP settings, routing, switches, and port issues, and coordinate with SCADA vendors for application-level problems.
- Troubleshoot CCTV networking components including NVR/DVR, IP cameras, PoE switches, remote viewing, and IP addressing to ensure continuous monitoring and recording.
- Install, configure, and maintain biometric attendance machines on the network, ensuring proper syncing with server/software and resolving device offline or sync failures.
- Set up and support video conferencing systems for boardroom meetings, managing hardware such as cameras, microphones, speakers, and displays while ensuring stable internet connectivity.
- Manage company email accounts, including user creation, password resets, and mailbox setup on various devices, alongside supporting Microsoft Teams for meeting and device issues.
- Provide basic IT support for desktops, laptops, printers, shared folders, and software installation.
- Deliver first-line support for ERP and other business software, troubleshooting login issues, workflow errors, printing problems, and server connectivity, while liaising with vendors for major issues.
- Conduct preventive maintenance by regularly checking internet uptime, MikroTik logs, access point status, CCTV connectivity, and attendance device health.
- Maintain backup configurations for critical devices and keep updated documentation including IP lists, network diagrams, inventory, and change logs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in networking and IT support, preferably within an industrial environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of MikroTik routers using WinBox and basic CLI commands.
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN concepts, IP addressing, DHCP, NAT, firewall configurations, and bandwidth management.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting Wi-Fi access points and CCTV networking (IP cameras, NVR/DVR, PoE switches).
- Proficiency in supporting attendance/biometric devices on networks and resolving syncing issues.
- Ability to set up and maintain video conferencing systems, including hardware and network stability.
- Competence in managing email accounts and providing day-to-day IT troubleshooting.
- Basic exposure to ERP systems and business software support.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Networking, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, calmness under pressure, and availability for urgent support when required.
- Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and problem prevention.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of VLANs, VPNs, policy routing, and link failover for dual internet connections.
- Basic understanding of server, NAS, and backup systems.
- Strong documentation skills and a process-oriented mindset.
Compensation
The monthly salary for this position ranges from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 125,000. The role requires in-person attendance at the Lahore Head Office.
