IT System Administrator

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain network infrastructure, including network monitoring, server health checks, firewall log and policy management.
- Oversee maintenance of internet and network hardware such as switches, routers, cabling, servers, and wireless devices.
- Manage network security policies, user groups, desktop policies, and naming conventions.
- Control spam and manage centralized antivirus servers.
- Regularly monitor various hardware and platforms to ensure efficiency and maximize uptime.
- Provide help desk support, resolve tickets, and perform health checks on all systems.
- Administer Windows-based servers including DHCP, domain controllers, IIS, and other Windows services.
- Maintain network and application servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, PFSense, antivirus, and domain controllers.
- Monitor security events, conduct incident response, and ensure proper logging from security devices and applications.
- Manage backup processes and VMware environments.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s (4-year) or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in systems administration.
- Strong knowledge of operating system internals, particularly Linux and Oracle Solaris.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and concepts.
- Ability to work independently with a strong drive for accomplishment in a challenging environment.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Experience with .NET and J2EE application configuration for databases and web services is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS and Azure, including configuration and management.

This is a full-time, in-person position. Candidates should be willing to commit to a two-year contract.
