Senior DevOps Developer

Mavericks United is seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Developer to join our team. This role involves building, maintaining, and enhancing robust development and deployment environments. The position requires hands-on expertise in automation, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and system reliability. The successful candidate will work closely with developers, technical teams, and clients, ensuring smooth communication and effective collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, deployment, and infrastructure processes.
- Manage cloud infrastructure, containerized applications, and environments across development, staging, and production.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to implement and maintain infrastructure efficiently.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability by implementing logging, alerting, and health checks.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and production issues while supporting release management and production support activities.
- Securely manage configuration, secrets, and environment variables, focusing on scalability, security, and performance improvements.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks and maintain comprehensive technical and operational documentation.
- Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and project managers; provide guidance and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers.

- Serve as the technical point of contact for clients regarding infrastructure, deployment, and DevOps-related matters.
- Participate in client meetings to understand requirements, present solutions, and communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide timely updates on deployments, incidents, and resolution timelines, including root cause analysis and preventive measures.
- Gather client infrastructure, security, and compliance requirements, aligning expectations with project managers and delivery schedules.
- Deliver clear documentation and reports while building trusted relationships with clients, including international teams.

Required Qualifications

- 3 to 5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud, Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
- Strong Linux/Unix and server administration skills with hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms covering compute, storage, networking, and security.
- Proven expertise in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes, along with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Proficiency in Git and version control workflows, and scripting skills in Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.
- Good understanding of networking concepts including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Experience with monitoring and logging solutions, security best practices, and managing production environments.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with demonstrated client-facing experience including meetings, status updates, and issue escalation. Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Hands-on production experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and Kubernetes, including Helm and Terraform automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stacks, or Datadog, along with cloud security and IAM practices.
- Experience with serverless or cloud-native architectures, enterprise or client-facing applications, and working with international teams.
- Proven ability to mentor junior DevOps engineers and lead client calls or technical walkthroughs.
