Global Connect Synergy Pvt. Ltd. (GCS), based in PECHS, Karachi, is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Senior Network Engineer to join its Network Operations team. This role offers hands-on experience in managing, monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring, and maintaining enterprise and ISP network infrastructure. The position operates within a professional ISP environment and is ideal for candidates aiming to advance their careers in ISP operations, network engineering, infrastructure, and service delivery. The role requires working in 24/7 rotational shifts of 9 hours each. Both male and female Karachi-based candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

- Network Operations & Infrastructure: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices. Work with Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 networking technologies. Assist in the operation and maintenance of ISP network infrastructure, including performing configuration changes, upgrades, and optimization activities.

- Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, availability, bandwidth utilization, and service health. Identify and resolve network outages, routing issues, and connectivity failures. Analyze alarms, logs, and alerts to perform root-cause analysis and ensure timely incident resolution.

- NOC & Service Operations: Participate in 24/7 rotational NOC shifts, handle network incidents, and escalate issues when necessary. Coordinate with internal teams, field engineers, vendors, and customers to restore services promptly. Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, changes, and network activities while following standard operating procedures and escalation protocols.

- Network Security & Optimization: Assist in implementing basic network security controls and best practices. Support firewall and access control operations. Identify network bottlenecks and contribute to optimization efforts to maintain network reliability, stability, and service quality.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunication, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including OSI and TCP/IP models, IPv4 and IPv6, subnetting, VLANs, trunking, STP/RSTP, EtherChannel, ARP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and routing concepts.

- Hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment and technologies.

- Proficient troubleshooting skills across Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3.

- CCNA-level knowledge and practical experience is mandatory.

- Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 rotational shift environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information

- 1–2 years of experience in ISP, NOC, Telecom, or Enterprise Network environments is preferred.

- Exposure to CCNP-level routing and switching technologies is an advantage.

- Basic understanding of static and dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, network monitoring tools, firewall concepts, network security principles, and ISP/NOC operations.

- Fresh graduates and candidates with internship experience demonstrating strong networking fundamentals and eagerness to learn may also be considered for junior or internship roles.

- The salary package for Senior Network Engineers ranges from PKR 50,000 to 100,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Fresh graduates or interns may be offered between PKR 30,000 and 40,000.
