The Junior Executive Import position is a full-time, on-site role located in Karāchi. This role focuses on managing import documentation, coordinating with suppliers, shipping lines, and clearing agents, and ensuring compliance with customs and regulatory standards. The Junior Executive will monitor shipment statuses, update internal tracking systems, and communicate delivery timelines to relevant departments. Daily responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, assisting with cost calculations, supporting freight negotiations, and collaborating with the finance team on payment processing and letter of credit (LC) documentation. Additionally, the role involves regular reporting on import activities and contributing to process improvements within the import function.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage all import-related documentation, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and letters of credit.
- Coordinate effectively with suppliers, shipping lines, and clearing agents to ensure smooth import operations.
- Track shipment status and update internal systems to provide timely delivery information to relevant teams.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in cost calculations related to freight and other import charges.
- Support negotiation efforts for freight and related expenses to optimize costs.
- Collaborate with the finance department for payment processing and LC documentation.
- Generate regular reports on import activities and support continuous process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies throughout the import process.
Required Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain precise documentation and records.
- Basic knowledge of import procedures, customs regulations, and trade documentation such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and letters of credit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, and familiarity with ERP or similar business software.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with suppliers, agents, and internal teams.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple shipments and meet deadlines.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in Karāchi within a collaborative, process-driven environment.
