Junior IT Infrastructure & Systems Engineers

We are seeking a Junior IT Infrastructure & Systems Engineer with 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, server management, or data center operations. Fresh graduates with strong technical projects or internships will also be considered. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and be willing to work rotating shifts to support 24x7 coverage.

Key Responsibilities

- Systems & Virtualization Support: Assist in monitoring and maintaining physical rack and blade servers, storage arrays, and hypervisor hosts such as VMware, Hyper-V, or vCenter. Ensure availability and performance under the guidance of senior engineers.

- Tier 1 Troubleshooting: Perform initial troubleshooting on server, storage, and basic network issues. Document findings clearly and escalate unresolved problems to senior staff.

- Routine Administration: Conduct regular VM health checks, support system backups, apply firmware and patch updates, and assist with hardware replacements as needed.

- Network & Security Basics: Manage and troubleshoot Top-of-Rack (TOR) and management switches, including basic port configurations, VLAN setups, and connectivity checks. Perform first-level firewall status verifications.

- Hardware & Cabling: Execute physical data center tasks such as racking, stacking, structured cabling, patching, and verifying connectivity to ensure smooth hardware operations.

- Vendor & Incident Management: Coordinate with OEMs and vendor support teams for hardware RMAs. Maintain accurate records of equipment, configurations, and incident reports.

- Reporting: Contribute to daily health reports covering IT systems and network status to keep the team informed of operational conditions.

Required Qualifications

- Foundational hands-on experience with rack and blade server hardware as well as enterprise storage systems.

- Basic working knowledge of virtualization platforms including VMware ESXi/vCenter, Hyper-V, or equivalent technologies.

- Understanding of networking fundamentals such as VLANs, cabling standards, switch management, and port-level troubleshooting.

- Strong analytical abilities, excellent documentation skills, and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.

Compensation and Work Location

The position offers a monthly salary ranging from Rs50,000 to Rs80,000. This role requires in-person attendance at the designated work location and involves working in rotating shifts to ensure continuous IT infrastructure support.
