Junior Packaging and label designer

Vodo Fox, a dynamic software and creative agency based in Islamabad, is seeking a talented Junior Packaging & Label Designer to join their creative team. This role focuses on designing real-world packaging and production-ready artwork for a diverse range of products including food and beverages, beauty and skincare, supplements, wellness, electronics, and home goods. The ideal candidate will work closely with local and international clients to develop packaging that not only looks appealing but is also fully prepared for manufacturing and print.

Key Responsibilities
- Create professional packaging and label designs across various consumer product categories.
- Develop multiple creative concepts aligned with client briefs, brand positioning, target audience, and market needs.
- Accurately work with packaging dielines, including panels, folds, cuts, bleeds, safe areas, dimensions, and print specifications.
- Prepare production-ready artwork suitable for printing and manufacturing processes.
- Utilize Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop extensively for typography, layouts, image editing, retouching, vector artwork, mockups, and presentations.
- Interpret detailed briefs from international clients and translate them into effective visual solutions.
- Ensure brand consistency across packaging, product visuals, Amazon content, websites, and social media platforms.
- Develop product visuals and Amazon listing/A+ content when required.
- Adapt packaging designs into social media posts and promotional creatives.
- Integrate AI tools intelligently for research, ideation, image generation, visual exploration, and workflow efficiency.
- Manage multiple projects, revisions, and deadlines while maintaining high design quality.
- Present design concepts clearly, explaining the rationale behind design decisions.
- Collaborate with marketing, branding, UI/UX, development, and creative teams.
- Review artwork thoroughly before final delivery to identify potential production or print issues.

Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in packaging and label design.
- Excellent proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Deep understanding of dielines, bleed, trim, safe areas, folds, panels, and print production processes.
- Ability to prepare professional, print-ready files.
- Solid grasp of typography, hierarchy, composition, spacing, alignment, color theory, and visual balance.
- Capability to create multiple genuinely distinct design concepts.
- Ability to comprehend and follow detailed client briefs accurately.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Efficient time management skills to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of branding and how packaging communicates product positioning.

Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills are critical for this role. The position requires someone who can professionally design, structure, prepare, and deliver packaging artwork—not just create visual concepts or mockups. Candidates may be asked to complete a practical design test during the hiring process to assess their packaging knowledge, software skills, concept development, brief comprehension, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.

A strong portfolio showcasing actual packaging and label design work is essential. Relevant examples should include packaging design for boxes, bottles, jars, pouches, or bags; print-ready artwork; branding; Amazon A+ or listing creatives; and social media design. The portfolio should clearly demonstrate the candidate’s own design ability and production knowledge.
