We are seeking a Junior Purchaser to support daily purchasing operations with a focus on local market procurement and supplier visits. This role involves frequent travel to Faisalabad markets using a motorbike to obtain quotations, compare prices, purchase approved materials, and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery to the factory. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Faisalabad’s industrial markets, especially suppliers related to gloves, textiles, knitting, machinery, electrical and mechanical items, packing, and factory consumables.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular visits to local markets and suppliers on a motorbike to obtain quotations, make purchases, and follow up on materials.
- Identify and engage suitable local suppliers based on purchase requirements.
- Collect and compare quotations considering price, quality, availability, delivery time, and payment terms.
- Purchase approved materials within authorized budgets and specifications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local vendors and suppliers.
- Explore the market for alternative suppliers and better pricing when necessary.
- Procure glove manufacturing and factory-related materials, including spare parts, consumables, packing materials, electrical and mechanical items, and tools.
- Monitor pending orders, delivery schedules, shortages, and replacement of defective items through supplier follow-up.
- Coordinate purchasing needs with Store, Production, Maintenance, Accounts, and other relevant departments.
- Verify quantities and basic specifications of purchased materials before handing them over to the Store.
- Maintain accurate records of quotations, purchase orders, supplier details, bills, receipts, and other documentation.
- Report market trends, supplier availability, price fluctuations, and purchasing challenges to the Purchase Incharge or Manager.
- Ensure all purchases comply with company procedures and are made from approved suppliers.
- Perform additional procurement and market-related tasks as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within a factory or manufacturing environment.
- Strong familiarity with Faisalabad’s local industrial markets and suppliers.
- Comfortable and experienced with frequent outdoor market visits using a motorbike.
- Valid motorcycle driving license and ownership of a motorbike is preferred.
- Good negotiation skills and ability to compare prices effectively.
- Basic understanding of material specifications and quality control.
- Ability to professionally obtain quotations, compare suppliers, and recommend suitable options.
- Strong communication skills and effective supplier follow-up.
- Basic computer skills, particularly in Excel, to maintain purchasing records.
- Honest, proactive, responsible, and capable of working efficiently under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Direct experience purchasing for gloves, textile, knitting, garments, or manufacturing factories is highly relevant and advantageous.
- Monthly salary range: Rs35,000 to Rs40,000.
- Work location requires in-person attendance.
Candidates will be evaluated based on their practical purchasing experience in factory or manufacturing settings, knowledge of Faisalabad markets related to gloves and textiles, ability to handle industrial material procurement, and comfort with regular motorbike travel for supplier visits. The role demands independence in collecting multiple quotations, negotiating with vendors, and recommending suppliers based on comprehensive comparison of price, quality, and availability.
