Junior Software Engineer

SmartPropFirm is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join its Product & Engineering team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for candidates with 1 to 2 years of software development experience who are eager to contribute to building and enhancing software solutions tailored for the proprietary trading industry. You will work on a variety of projects including trading tools, dashboards, rewards systems, marketplaces, and platform features. The position offers a base salary of $400 USD per month, with the potential to earn up to an additional $200 USD monthly through performance-based bonuses. The ideal candidate is someone with strong programming fundamentals, quick learning ability, effective problem-solving skills, and familiarity with modern development and AI tools.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance features across the company’s web platform, working on both frontend and backend components as needed.
- Write clean, maintainable, and reliable code that meets project standards.
- Integrate APIs, databases, and third-party services to support platform functionality.
- Identify and fix bugs, optimize performance, and thoroughly test your work.
- Utilize AI development tools effectively for coding assistance, research, and debugging.
- Collaborate closely with team members and take ownership of assigned tasks to ensure timely delivery.

Required Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong programming fundamentals with proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and authentication mechanisms.
- Comfortable working with Git, participating in code reviews, and navigating existing codebases.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
- Experience using AI development tools such as ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot.
- At least 1 year of work experience specifically with Next.js and software engineering best practices.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with Node.js, WordPress, REST APIs, or SaaS platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with responsive UI/UX design and production debugging techniques.
- Interest or experience in fintech, trading platforms, dashboards, marketplaces, or rewards systems is highly desirable.
