This position involves providing essential technical support to senior technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and related infrastructure. The role requires assisting with cable management, inspecting network components, identifying faults, and supporting field operations to ensure reliable communication services. The candidate will work under supervision, using basic testing tools and adhering to safety and technical protocols while maintaining accurate records of work performed.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist senior technicians in installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and accessories.
- Support the laying, routing, dressing, labeling, and termination of cables and wires.
- Help inspect telephone lines, network connections, distribution boxes, and equipment installations.
- Identify and report faults in communication systems, cables, power supplies, and related equipment.
- Operate basic testing tools and instruments under supervision to diagnose issues.
- Assist with routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning, inspection, and replacement of defective components.
- Support field teams during fault rectification, service restoration, and installation activities.
- Maintain tools, equipment, spare parts, and materials issued for assigned tasks.
- Record completed tasks, equipment usage, material consumption, and reported faults accurately.
- Follow instructions, technical procedures, safety standards, and workplace discipline consistently.
- Ensure the safe handling, storage, and transportation of tools and technical equipment.
- Perform other relevant technical duties as assigned by the competent authority.

Required Qualifications

- Secondary School Certificate (Matriculation) with Science or equivalent qualification.
- Acceptable qualifications also include Secondary School Certificate/Matriculation in Computer Science or Technical School Certificate/Matriculation (Technical).
- The position corresponds to BPS-06, which is equivalent to NPS-2.
- Maximum age limit for applicants is 30 years.
