Kotlin Engineer

As a remote, hourly-paid Kotlin Engineer, you will play a crucial role in reviewing AI-generated responses and producing high-quality Kotlin-focused content. Your work will involve evaluating the reasoning and step-by-step problem-solving behind each AI solution, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the given prompts. You will identify errors in methodology or conceptual understanding, fact-check technical details, and craft expert-level explanations and model solutions that demonstrate correct approaches. Additionally, you will rate and compare multiple AI responses based on correctness and reasoning quality. This position is with SME Careers, a rapidly growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, which supports many of the world’s leading AI companies and foundation model labs by providing high-quality AI training data.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI Training Content: Create detailed prompts and responses across various topics to guide AI learning, ensuring models reflect a deep and accurate understanding of diverse subjects.
- Optimize AI Performance: Evaluate and rank AI-generated responses to improve the model’s accuracy, fluency, and contextual relevance.
- Ensure Model Integrity: Test AI models for potential inaccuracies or biases, validating their reliability and robustness across different use cases.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on Kotlin development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Kotlin features including null safety, coroutines, and functional programming idioms.
- Professional experience using Kotlin for Android or backend services development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Ability to critically assess idiomatic Kotlin style, design decisions, and architectural trade-offs.
- Experience leveraging large language models (LLMs) for coding assistance, debugging, and code review.
- Excellent English writing skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts.
- Experience reviewing application logic or mobile/backend architecture.
- Minimum English proficiency at the C1 level.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with Ktor, Android Jetpack, and advanced coroutine usage in production environments is highly preferred.
- Contributions to Kotlin open-source projects, such as merged pull requests, competitive programming experience, or other demonstrations of strong problem-solving skills are advantageous.
- Previous experience in AI data training or model evaluation is strongly preferred.
