Laboratory Chemist

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fragrance Assistant to support the lead perfumer in developing and refining fragrance formulations. This role involves hands-on preparation of raw materials, assisting in research and development activities, and ensuring that all fragrance compositions meet client requirements and quality standards. The ideal candidate will work closely with perfumers and chemists in a laboratory setting, contributing to sensory testing and quality control processes to deliver exceptional fragrance products.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the lead perfumer in creating and refining fragrance formulations that align with client briefs and current market trends.
- Measure, mix, and prepare raw materials accurately for fragrance compositions, following precise formulations and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Prepare samples for testing by measuring and mixing raw materials, diluting fragrances, and developing various product formulations.
- Support fragrance chemists and perfumers in research and development tasks, including conducting experiments and assisting with new formulations.
- Record and organize experimental data meticulously, ensuring all results are documented accurately for further analysis.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment regularly to ensure all tools and instruments are functioning correctly.
- Participate in sensory testing and quality control procedures to evaluate fragrance characteristics and overall performance.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions in a laboratory environment.
- Basic understanding of fragrance formulation and raw material handling.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good organizational skills for accurate data recording and sample preparation.

Location and Work Environment

This is a full-time, in-person position based in Karachi. Candidates must be available to work on-site to effectively collaborate with the perfuming and research teams.

Compensation

The monthly salary for this role ranges from Rs45,000 to Rs80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
