The Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P), a prominent not-for-profit healthcare organization under the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), is seeking a Lady Medical Officer to join its team at CHC Garamchashma in Lower Chitral. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and preventive health interventions. This role emphasizes patient safety, quality improvement, and effective healthcare delivery within a collaborative environment. Reporting to the Unit Incharge, the Medical Officer will play a vital role in supporting clinical services and contributing to the overall health outcomes of the community served.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver clinical care to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including examination, diagnosis, treatment, and emergency care.
- Conduct ward rounds, monitor patient progress, and maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Prescribe medications and manage treatment plans in accordance with approved clinical guidelines.
- Perform minor medical and surgical procedures within the scope of competency.
- Refer patients to specialists or higher-level care facilities when necessary.
- Participate actively in clinical audits, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Collaborate closely with consultants, senior medical staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff, contributing to their on-the-job training and continuous professional development.
- Adhere strictly to institutional policies, infection control protocols, patient safety standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Undertake any additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS degree with a valid Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) license.
- 1-2 years of relevant clinical experience; fresh graduates who have completed their house job are also encouraged to apply.
- Possession of basic clinical certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Demonstrated professionalism with a strong service orientation and stakeholder focus.
- High level of integrity and discretion in managing confidential information.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
